Aprilia Manganang’s request for a change gender status is approved by the court
Tondano District Court granted the request to change the name of Sergeant Dua (Serda) Aprilia Santini Manganang to Aprilio Perkasa Manganang. The decision was taken by the Panel of Judges Nova Loura Sasube in a trial to change names, gender and a number of population documents that took place virtually, Friday (19/3/2021).
“Determined that the name of the applicant was changed from Aprilia Santini Manganang to Aprilio Perkasa Manganang,” said Nova when reading the decision.
Former Indonesian volleyball athlete, formerly known as Aprilia Manganang, has now been officially designated as a man by the name of Aprilio Perkasa Manganang. Aprilio Perkasa Manganang, is a new identity for the former Indonesian volleyball athlete who was previously famous under the name Aprilia Manganang. Finally, what Aprilio Manganang had been waiting for had actually materialized.
The decision was taken by the Panel of Judges Nova Loura Sasube in the virtual trial. In addition to changing the name, the panel of judges also granted the applicant’s request regarding gender change in the eyes of the law. The judge granted the request for a change of gender from a woman to a man based on the testimony of witnesses, experts and a number of evidences.
“Determining the change of the applicant’s name from Aprilia Santini Manganang to Aprilio Perkasa Manganang,” Nova said when reading the decision, quoted by SportFEAT from Kompas.com.
“Determining applicant Aprilia Santini Manganang to change her gender from female to male,” said Nova.
During the trial, Aprilia Manganang could not hide her happiness and tears.
